Third World
Third World is not only one of the top reggae bands of all time, it is an institution—an institution that holds firm to the cultural and ancestral roots of its members, while still pushing forward the cutting edge of music worldwide. Formed in 1973, the group combines Jamaican reggae and folk music with all strains of African rhythms, American pop, rhythm and blues, rap, and classical music. Third World is one of the longest running and most diverse bands Jamaica has ever produced. After 30 years of smash hits, sold-out tours, and inspirational messages, their themes are positive, progressive, and internationally relevant.

Sister Carol (a.k.a. "Black Cinderella" and "Mother Culture") has succeeded in a musical genre that is widely dominated by male performers. Her life is a true testament to the spirit and energy that she conveys in every live performance, which permeates every aspect of life in the new millennium. While many were introduced to Sister Carol through her appearances in Jonathan Demme’s films, Something Wild and Married to the Mob, her prolific music career includes eight albums, dozens of singles, a Grammy nomination, several world tours, network TV appearances, as well as earning praise in such publications as Billboard and The Village Voice.

Gizzae
Gizzae hails from Dominica, Ethiopia, and the south side of Chicago. Combining traditional roots reggae with soca, Creole, calypso, cumpas, jazz, rock, and blues, Gizzae offers a dynamic and progressive roots flavor. Collectively, the members possess four Grammy awards and have played for such acts as the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Ziggy Marley, Third World, Toots and the Maytals, Burning Spear, Carly Simon, Talking Heads, Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt, and many others.
Backing Sister Carol is Les Exodus, the "Twin Cities" hottest reggae band.” Formed in 1987, they quickly gained popularity and began touring internationally. Known for their dual lead singers, tight arrangements, high-energy delivery, and great set material, Exodus puts on a show that is equally as easy to relax to as it is to get wild and jump up. Drawing from a broad tonal palette, Exodus brings a sound that can range from über-modern to old school all within a single song. Les Exodus has shared the stage with such artists as Everton Blender, the Itals, and Sugar Minott, and provides tight shows that represent the genre to the extent it deserves.

Innocent
Innocent grew up in Tanzania when many African nations were still under colonial rule.  Struggling for freedom and independence, reggae’s powerful lyrics and messages of truth resonated with Innocent. Arriving in the U.S. in the 90s, he earned a solid reputation touring the Midwest and West Coast, where his music brought the house down to sell-out crowds. He has opened for major artists, including Sugar Minott, Judy Mowatt, Sister Carol, Wailing Souls, Freddy McGregor, The Wailers, Skatellites, Ziggy Marley, and Lucky Dube. Innocent’s five CDs garnered generous reviews from the Reggae Report and Beat magazine. He was awarded Best Male Vocalist and Best World Beat group by the Minnesota Music Academy.
I Roots founder, Will Tucker, carries with him real Caribbean vocals and vibes. He got his start at the tender age of eight playing drums for the Boys Brigade and other bands. Eventually, he discovered his love for singing, and has nurtured his talent by vocalizing with various reggae bands. I Roots plays standard reggae, ska, soca, calypso, and other Caribbean styles.
Will Tucker of I Roots
Uprising is coming on as the hottest Caribbean project to hit Minnesota’s music scene.  With many combined years of performing experience, its members represent the countries of Belize, Jamaica, Trinidad, Canada, and the U.S. to bring a solid riddem and tropical vibes, including reggae, soca, and calypso.

Prince Paul
Prince Paul and the Conscious Party combines conscious lyrics with rootsy reggae that is sure to groove your soul. Prince Paul hails from Montego Bay, Jamaica, where his talent was fostered with the local musicians. He has performed with various artists throughout the U.S. and Jamaica. It's party time in Duluth when this band hits the stage.
Bayfront Reggae Festival emcee, Tony Paul, came to Minneapolis from Trinidad in the late '70s and was an original member of the Twin Cities’ groundbreaking band, Shangoya. Tony is the inveterate host of KFAI’s “Shake & Bake Show,” a popular “Monday afternoon smorgasbord of international music.” When he's not at KFAI, Tony plays percussion with the International Reggae All-Stars, emcees various events throughout the Twin Cities, and works with The Children's Theater Company of Minneapolis, North America's flagship theatre for young people.

Peewee Dread
DJ Peewee Dread will be backed by Selecta Binghi to spin your favorite Caribbean riddems throughout the day. He mixes reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall with his Carib-Creole style. As a part of Dred I Dread, Peewee was twice awarded the best reggae act in Minnesota by the Minnesota Music Academy.
